Your Job

As a Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) Expert, you will lead enterprise-wide initiatives that improve product, process, and project value across Molex businesses. Working closely with Business Units and cross-functional stakeholders, you will identify, evaluate, and drive opportunities that optimize cost, performance, quality, manufacturability, and customer value without compromising reliability, safety, or customer requirements.

You will apply structured Value Methodology to transform insights from engineering, benchmarking, manufacturing, sourcing, and market intelligence into actionable opportunities that create measurable business impact. This role combines technical expertise, facilitation skills, business acumen, and the ability to influence teams across a global organization.

Our Team

You will join the Global Engineering Solutions (GES) organization as part of the Value Engineering Capability team. Our team partners with product engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, operations, and business leaders across Molex to identify value creation opportunities, drive innovation, and enhance competitiveness through disciplined Value Analysis and Value Engineering practices.

What You Will Do

  • Lead Value Analysis and Value Engineering studies using structured Value Methodology from project definition through implementation and value realization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops that bring together engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, operations, and business stakeholders to identify and develop high-value opportunities.
  • Translate customer needs, technical requirements, and business objectives into functional models that drive value-focused decision-making.
  • Analyze products, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for cost optimization, complexity reduction, performance improvement, and enhanced customer value.
  • Develop and evaluate concepts using function analysis, cost analysis, benchmarking insights, and engineering assessments.
  • Build robust business cases that quantify value creation, investment requirements, implementation feasibility, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Partner with Business Units to understand strategic priorities, market challenges, customer requirements, and product roadmaps.
  • Leverage benchmarking, competitive analysis, product teardowns, and cost-driver assessments to uncover innovation and value creation opportunities.
  • Evaluate alternative materials, manufacturing processes, technologies, architectures, components, and supply-chain solutions to improve product competitiveness.
  • Drive alignment among stakeholders by presenting recommendations supported by data, analysis, and business value considerations.
  • Track opportunities from ideation through implementation and realization, ensuring visibility to progress, value capture, and outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver VAVE training, coaching sessions, and awareness workshops to expand organizational capability and adoption.
  • Establish and maintain best practices, playbooks, templates, case studies, standards, and lessons learned that strengthen VAVE effectiveness across the enterprise.
  • Support the development of Value Champions and engineering teams by promoting a culture of value-based thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to governance processes by maintaining VAVE pipelines, implementation metrics, value realization tracking, and program reporting.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 4 years in Value Engineering, Value Analysis, Design-to-Value, Cost Optimization, Benchmarking, Product Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering projects, studies, or workshops involving complex engineered products.
  • Knowledge and application of Value Methodology, function analysis, cost analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Experience developing business cases, evaluating opportunities, and supporting implementation of value improvement initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and business functions in a global environment.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in automotive, electronics, connector, industrial equipment, electromechanical, or high-volume manufacturing industries.
  • Formal training in Value Methodology or certification through SAVE International.
  • Expertise in FAST diagrams, function-cost analysis, structured ideation, value planning, and concept prioritization methodologies.
  • Experience conducting product teardowns, competitive benchmarking, design-to-cost, design-to-value, and should-costing analyses.
  • Knowledge of product development processes, engineering documentation, BOM structures, manufacturing methods, and supply-chain cost drivers.
  • Experience building and managing value opportunity pipelines with measurable implementation outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success influencing technical and business decisions without direct authority.
  • Experience developing training programs, mentoring teams, and building organizational capabilities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance customer value, business priorities, technical feasibility, and implementation risks.
