Job Purpose: Lead - Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to financial and accounting regulations within the data centers industry. The role demands a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, complemented by extensive experience in compliance and leadership. The ideal candidate will manage compliance initiatives, drive operational excellence, and foster a culture of accountability and integrity within the organization.

Industrial Relations

  • Develop and implement the Industrial Relations strategy across project and operational data center sites.
  • Foster a positive employee and workforce relations environment to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Establish effective engagement mechanisms with workforce representatives, contract labor, and site leadership teams.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, domestic inquiries, misconduct investigations, and corrective actions in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Conduct proactive IR risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures to prevent disputes and work stoppages.
  • Lead negotiations and resolution of workforce-related issues while maintaining organizational interests and legal compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to site leadership teams on employee relations and disciplinary processes.

Labor Law Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations across multiple project and operational sites.
  • Drive compliance under:
    • Code on Wages
    • Code on Social Security
    • Industrial Relations Code
    • Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions Code
    • Contract Labour regulations
    • Shops & Establishment provisions
    • Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) requirements
    • Applicable state-specific labor laws
  • Monitor statutory registrations, licenses, renewals, returns, notices, and records.
  • Establish periodic compliance reviews and compliance dashboards for management reporting.
  • Coordinate compliance audits and ensure closure of observations within defined timelines.

Contract Labor Management

  • Develop and implement governance mechanisms for contract labor engagement across sites.
  • Ensure compliance by contractors with all labor and statutory requirements.
  • Conduct contractor due diligence and periodic compliance assessments.
  • Monitor wage payments, statutory remittances, attendance records, welfare provisions, and contractor documentation.
  • Lead contractor compliance audits and recommend corrective actions where required.
  • Drive digitization and automation of labor compliance monitoring systems.

Legal & Regulatory Liaison

  • Interface with labor departments, inspectors, statutory authorities, and government agencies.
  • Manage labor inspections, audits, notices, and regulatory submissions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external legal teams on labor-related cases and litigation matters.
  • Represent the organization before labor authorities and relevant forums as required.

Governance, Reporting & Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance MIS and dashboards.
  • Track key IR and compliance metrics across all sites.
  • Identify compliance gaps, emerging labor risks, and workforce-related concerns.
  • Support business leadership with insights and recommendations for effective workforce governance.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), compliance frameworks, and governance mechanisms.

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Project, Operations, EHS, Procurement, Security, and Administration teams for seamless workforce management.
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, consultants, labor authorities, and local administration.
  • Support site mobilization activities for new data center projects from an IR and compliance perspective.

ESG, Safety & Sustainability Responsibilities

  • Promote AdaniConneX's commitment to ethical labor practices, human rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ensure compliance with company ESG commitments related to labor welfare, contractor management, and responsible business practices.
  • Drive adherence to workplace safety regulations and labor welfare provisions.
  • Support implementation of worker welfare programs, safety awareness initiatives, and employee engagement activities.
  • Ensure all workforce management practices align with organizational sustainability and governance objectives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Zero major statutory non-compliance observations.
  • 100% timely statutory filings, registrations, and renewals.
  • Contractor labor compliance score across all sites.
  • Closure of labor audit observations within prescribed timelines.
  • Number of industrial disputes and successful resolution rate.
  • Compliance audit score and governance effectiveness.
  • Workforce grievance resolution turnaround time.
  • Labor-related litigation and regulatory exposure metrics.
  • Contractor welfare and compliance adherence ratings.

Education

  • MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, Labour Welfare, Personnel Management, or Industrial Relations.
  • Degree in Law (LLB) will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 15-17 years of experience in Industrial Relations, Labor Compliance, Workforce Management, and Statutory Governance.
  • Experience in infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, power, data center, telecom, EPC, or industrial projects preferred.
  • Strong exposure to managing contract labor across multiple sites.
  • Proven experience in dealing with labor authorities, compliance audits, and workforce dispute resolution.
