Developer III (AI)

RealPage is leading the Generative AI transformation within the PropTech industry. Our Agentic AI team builds next-generation AI applications and enhances existing products with advanced Generative AI capabilities.

As a Senior AI Engineer (Dev III), We're looking for a strong engineer with real depth in system design, software architecture, and building scalable, production-grade systems. You think in terms of systems, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability, and you deliver robust solutions end to end. We build scalable services and AI agents (using the OpenAI Agents SDK) — core software engineering is what we test for; AI/LLM exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, high-performance services and APIs.- Own architectural decisions for your area and articulate trade-offs (performance, scalability, cost).- Lead end-to-end design — data modeling, service boundaries, orchestration, deployment.- Ensure systems are observable, fault-tolerant, and production-ready.- Raise the bar on code quality, reviews, and engineering standards; mentor others.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For- 4–7 years designing distributed systems and scalable architectures.- Strong understanding of scalability, reliability, fault tolerance, and observability, with the ability to explain design trade-offs.- Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/JavaScript.- Hands-on experience with production services, APIs, and data stores (SQL/NoSQL), including caching and messaging/queues.- Strong fundamentals — clean, well-tested, maintainable code.- Experience with a cloud platform (AWS or GCP)

Nice to Have- Exposure to AI agents / agentic frameworks (OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph, LangChain).- Familiarity with LLM application patterns, orchestration, and RAG pipelines.- Data engineering: batch/streaming pipelines, warehouse/lakehouse modeling, orchestration (Airflow, dbt), and powering reporting/analytics.- Foundational ML and data concepts.
