The School of Business at the American International University in Kuwait comprises three departments: Accounting, Finance, and Management. The school offers a BSc in Accounting, a BSc in Business Administration, and a BSc in Finance. The school is committed to providing excellence in education through highly qualified faculty members with extensive backgrounds and experience.”

Position Summary

The School of Business invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Economics at the rank of Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching Economics, maintain an active research and/or creative practice profile, and engage with contemporary technologies and methodologies. The appointee will contribute to undergraduate education, curriculum development, student mentorship, and institutional service within a collaborative and multicultural academic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver innovative undergraduate Economics courses emphasizing economic theory, contemporary issues, data analysis, business decision-making, and real-world applications.

  • Develop technology-enhanced curricula using AI, data analytics, digital tools, and interactive learning platforms.

  • Continuously update courses to reflect emerging economic trends, industry needs, academic standards, and accreditation requirements.

  • Supervise senior projects and provide academic advising, mentoring, and student support.

  • Maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment.

  • Support program assessment, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Economics.

  • Minimum 5 years of university teaching experience, with demonstrated excellence in Economics.

  • Strong expertise in economic theory, quantitative methods, econometrics, and applied economic analysis.

  • Ability to develop innovative, technology-enabled courses, including effective use of AI and interactive learning tools.

  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and quality assurance.

  • Strong English communication, advising, mentoring, and student-engagement skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural academic environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teaching and research.

  • Ability to integrate diverse cultural and ethical perspectives into the curriculum.
