What To Expect

Tesla is committed to supply chain sustainability efforts. Audits are an important tool in our responsible sourcing efforts, especially when they lead to impactful corrective actions. We expect the number of supply chain audits will increase in the coming years.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee and conduct audits in the battery supply chain and supply chains of other critical materials to support our responsible sourcing and compliance efforts. The scope of these audits will include environmental and social conditions, as well as due diligence and traceability management systems. Auditees will be battery cell producers and refiners and mines of critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, nickel, and graphite. The goal of these

audits is to improve our suppliers’ sustainability performance and confirm the origin of our sourced materials.

It will work closely with our in-house audit team, external audit firms, as well as our commercial purchasing, supplier industrialization engineering, and legal teams. This is a full-time position based in Singapore with significant travel (up to 75%) throughout Asia, sometimes on short notice.

The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing sustainability in battery and critical mineral supply chains and excels in a dynamic environment.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct on-site and remote audits of suppliers against sustainability and due diligence standards, including at battery cell, refining and mining levels (lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite, and other materials)
• Review and analyze supplier-provided documentation, including transport and traceability information
• Manage external audit firms, including audit firm selection, competitive bidding, contract negotiation, and project management
• Support audits that assess environmental and social conditions across the battery supply chain
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions resulting from audits
• Translate audit findings into systematic and concise risk assessments and mitigation strategies, to be presented to internal stakeholders, including commercial supply chain managers and executives
• Track supplier performance using KPIs to identify trends and prioritize action, and drive positive impact throughout supply chain
• Review supplier contracts to ensure robust audit clauses are embedded
• Support general compliance preparedness across upstream and downstream segments
• Conduct regular onsite supplier visits, sometimes on short notice

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience in supply chain
• Experience conducting on-site and remote supply chain sustainability and/or due diligence audits
• Experience managing auditors and/or external audit firms
• Understanding of relevant standards, including relevant OECD Due
• Diligence Guidances, the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Validated
• Assessment Program (VAP), and the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI)’s Responsible
• Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) and Supply Chain Due Diligence Plus (SCDDP)
• Familiarity with supply chain traceability concepts such as batch-level
• traceability, material control, and chain of custody
• Familiarity with battery cell manufacturing, refining, smelting, and mining processes
• Exceptional analytical skills with experience tracking supplier KPIs and translating data into actionable insights
• Strong precision and attention to detail
• Ability to excel in fast-paced, complex, and ambiguous situations
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to foster cross-functional collaboration, including with Commercial Procurement, Trade Legal, Policy, and Engineering functions
• Proficiency in Mandarin or other Asian languages is preferred
