Job Description
Team Summary
Visa's Tech Partnerships Team is a client-facing organization that shapes Visa's public digital narrative. The team develops commercial partnerships and strategic engagements with leading digital brands, platform providers, and FinTech players across Greater China.
Tech Partnerships expands Visa's business development capabilities by equipping teams with compelling sales narratives, scalable programs, practical tools, and deal support. The team works across Visa to make the company the partner of choice for digital-native enterprises and to unlock new payment, commerce, and money-movement use cases.
What a Director, Tech Partnerships does at Visa
Based in Beijing, the Director, Tech Partnerships will own a portfolio of priority digital-native and technology partners across North China. The role combines strategic account leadership, business development, complex deal execution, and cross-functional orchestration. You will build executive relationships, create unified account plans, and translate Visa's global capabilities into commercially viable solutions for the Greater China market.
- Own unified account plans for strategic partners, align stakeholders around shared objectives, and identify high-value collaboration opportunities across cross-border wallets, B2B payments, Agentic Commerce, stablecoin-enabled scenarios, and platform integrations.
- Lead end-to-end development of complex commercial partnerships, including executive engagement, solution shaping, business-case development, commercial negotiation, proof-of-concept design, contract or MOU finalization, launch, and scale-up.
- Maintain disciplined pipeline governance, define clear milestones and accountabilities, surface risks early, and drive measurable revenue, volume, and strategic outcomes.
- Act as a senior client partner to business and technology leaders, bringing together Visa products, solutions, market expertise, and global resources to address partner priorities.
- Lead cross-functional deal teams across Product, Solutions, Sales, Legal, Risk, Finance, Marketing, and regional or global stakeholders; resolve roadblocks and secure the resources required for execution.
Why this is important to Visa
The backbone of cross-border commerce and money movement increasingly runs through China's digital-native enterprises and major internet platforms. These companies orchestrate consumer journeys, merchant ecosystems, payments, data flows, and emerging AI-enabled experiences. This role will help Visa expand beyond traditional financial institution partnerships and strengthen its position across e-commerce, digital wallets, social and content platforms, online travel, mobility, gaming, and foundation-model ecosystems.
The successful candidate can shape partnerships that influence Visa's future in cross-border payments, Agentic Commerce, B2B money movement, and next-generation transaction experiences. The work will open scalable growth channels, improve Visa's relevance with technology leaders, and connect regional opportunities with Visa's global capabilities.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
