Job Description Summary

The China Wind Manufacturing Leader reports to the Vice President Wind Manufacturing and leads Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost outcomes across multiple manufacturing plants. This is a strategic leadership role aligned to critical business imperatives supporting a global customer base.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Establish a zero-incident safety culture and adherence to Life Saving Rules
  • Drive safety standard work including best practices, root cause analysis, and methods
  • Develop and execute a regional quality framework aligned with global standards
  • Drive quality culture ensuring customer and engineering requirements are met
  • Develop and execute regional operational standards such as daily management, MOR’s, and related rhythms to meet delivery commitments with safety and quality standards
  • Deliver on regional S&OE targets
  • Implement proactive systems to provide early warnings on fulfillment risk and drive problem solving
  • Lead regional Lean imperatives driving continuous improvement, deploying standard work, value stream mapping, and eliminating waste
  • Own regional operating budget and capital investment
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy for regional workforce capability, succession planning, and skills development
  • Develop regional manufacturing leadership culture and capability, including meeting Glint survey improvement goals and developing leaders (front-line leader to plant leaders)
  • Build One Team culture across multiple plants driving priority alignment and optimized solutions across plants, engineering, sourcing, and related stakeholders

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, finance, and/or relevant operational leadership experience
  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience leading teams
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time

  • Prior relevant experience in the Wind industry
  • Proven strong operational leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to set clear priorities, problem solve challenges, assess tradeoffs, take decisions, and deliver SQDC
  • Knowledge of manufacturing leadership disciplines including production planning, inventory control, variable cost productivity, fulfilment, quality, and cost systems
  • Strategic thinker – demonstrated ability to anticipate constraints, facilitate breakthroughs, and drive strategic activities that transform the business
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex business problems, assess tradeoffs, and take the right decisions
  • Strong cross-functional leadership with demonstrated ability to influence outcomes
  • Proven leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to motivate & inspire others
  • Excellent communication with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (shop floor to CEO)
  • Demonstrated results driving change and transforming operations
  • Proven experience with leading Lean activities, applying Lean tools, and building Lean culture
