Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Strategy & Development

  • Lead the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of a hardware reliability and validation laboratory exceeding 1,000 square meters.
  • Define laboratory layout, test workflows, and future expansion roadmaps to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, EHS, Security, IT, and Engineering teams during laboratory construction and deployment.
  • Ensure laboratory infrastructure complies with all applicable requirements related to:
  • Electrical systems
  • Compressed air and gas systems
  • Cooling and ventilation systems
  • Fire protection and emergency response systems
  • EHS and occupational safety requirements
  • Local regulatory and building code requirements

Laboratory Operations Management

  • Lead day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure safety, efficiency, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Establish laboratory management processes, KPIs, utilization tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage laboratory budgets, capital investments, maintenance contracts, and operational expenditures.
  • Oversee laboratory scheduling, resource planning, capacity management, and utilization optimization.
  • Ensure laboratory readiness to support multiple simultaneous development programs.

Equipment Management

  • Define laboratory equipment strategy and investment roadmap.
  • Lead equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification, and acceptance activities.
  • Establish preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair programs.
  • Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, service providers, and accreditation bodies.
  • Ensure equipment compliance with applicable industry standards and laboratory quality requirements.

Product Validation & Engineering Support

  • Support reliability and validation activities for AI Data Center Power Solutions products
  • Provide technical leadership for:
  • EVT (Engineering Validation Test)
  • DVT (Design Validation Test)
  • PVT (Production Validation Test)
  • Reliability Validation
  • Qualification Testing
  • Review reliability and validation plans and ensure adequate test coverage for product requirements and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Product Develop Engineering, Reliability and Testing Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Projects Management teams.

Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure laboratory compliance with:
  • ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
  • CNAS accreditation requirements
  • Applicable IEC, UL, CSA, GB, and other international standards
  • Lead laboratory accreditation activities, audits, and corrective action programs.
  • Serve as the primary interface with accreditation agencies and external auditors.
  • Drive laboratory quality management system implementation and continuous improvement.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing laboratory engineers and technicians.
  • Build organizational capabilities in test engineering, validation methodologies, and laboratory operations.
  • Establish competency development and technical training programs.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and innovation.

Job Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • 15+ years of experience in hardware validation, testing, reliability engineering, or laboratory management.
  • Proven experience building and commissioning a laboratory of at least 1,000 square meters from 0-to-1.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory infrastructure requirements including:
  • Electrical power systems
  • Water systems
  • Compressed air and gas systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Fire protection systems
  • EHS requirements
  • Demonstrated experience managing laboratory operations, staffing, budgets, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Extensive knowledge of product development validation processes including:
  • EVT
  • DVT
  • PVT
  • Reliability Testing
  • Qualification Testing
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Environmental Testing
  • Mechanical Testing
  • Electrical Testing
  • Product Safety Testing
  • Experience supporting validation of electromechanical products, power delivery systems, connectors, cables, or related hardware products.
  • Expert knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management systems.
  • Hands-on experience leading CNAS accreditation application and certification activities.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading technical teams in a global matrix organization.
  • Fluent English communication skills, including speaking, reading, writing, and technical presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in AI Data Center, Power Distribution, High-Power Interconnect, or Hyperscale Infrastructure industries.
  • Experience with UL, CSA, IEC, GB, and customer-specific validation standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • PMP, Six Sigma, ASQ, or related professional certifications.
  • Experience managing globally distributed laboratory organizations.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing qualification programs.

What your background should look like

Generally requires Bachelors degree in appropriate field with 12 or more years of experience; or Masters degree with 10 or more years of experience; or PhD level with 6 or more years of experience; or local equivalent
